Can-Am COMMANDER 800 STD 2017 Parts & Accessories

Originally established in 1972 as the motorcycle division of Canadian conglomerate Bombardier, Can-Am immediately revolutionized the off-road racing scene with its high-output Rotax engines and lightweight chassis engineering. The brand made motorsport history in 1974 by sweeping the top three spots in the AMA 250cc Motocross National Championship in its debut year, while also capturing multiple ISDT (International Six Days Trial) gold medals. After motorcycle operations were paused in 1987—with Bombardier shifting focus toward ATVs, side-by-sides, and three-wheeled roadsters (Spyder and Ryker)—Can-Am officially returned to two-wheeled production in 2024 with a line of all-electric street and dual-sport motorcycles engineered around proprietary Rotax E-Power technology.

CAN-AM MODEL NAMING CONVENTIONS

Can-Am utilizes distinct model naming conventions across its historical and modern two-wheeled lineups:

  • MX Series: Pure motocross competition two-stroke machines (MX-1 through MX-6)
  • TNT: "Track & Trail" — Dual-sport and enduro dual-purpose bikes
  • Qualifier: Dedicated long-distance off-road enduro competition models
  • Pulse: Modern naked electric urban streetbike platform
  • Origin: Modern dual-sport electric adventure motorcycle platform
