Introduced in 2007 to succeed the long-running TRX350/TRX400 series, the Honda FourTrax Rancher 420 (TRX420) represents one of Honda's most versatile and commercially successful utility-sport ATVs. Powered by a longitudinally mounted, 420 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a 34 mm Keihin PGM-FI electronic fuel injection system, the platform aligns the crankshaft with the driveshaft for efficient power transfer to the wheels without right-angle gear losses. Available across numerous trim configurations—ranging from basic manual-shift, 2WD swingarm models to premium 4WD variants featuring Electronic Power Steering (EPS), Electronic Shift Program (ESP), Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), and Independent Rear Suspension (IRS)—the TRX420 remains a industry benchmark for durability and utility.
