Introduced in 2008 and produced through 2009, the Honda FourTrax TRX700XX was Honda's ultimate entry into the open-class high-performance sport ATV segment. Engineered specifically to tackle high-speed desert racing, cross-country terrain, and aggressive trail riding, the TRX700XX combined a massive 686 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine derived from the XR650R/XR650L platform with an innovative Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) system—a rare setup on a pure sport quad. By featuring dual-A-arm IRS, centered dual rear chain drives, and a generous 10.2 inches of ground clearance, the TRX700XX effectively eliminated the low-hanging rear axle sprocket and brake rotor drag typical of traditional straight-axle quads, allowing riders to maintain high speeds over rough obstacles.
