Honda XL250 1971 Parts & Accessories
Introduced in 1972, the Honda XL250 was a landmark motorcycle that effectively launched the modern 4-stroke dual-sport category. As the first mass-produced 4-stroke motorcycle to feature a 4-valve cylinder head, the XL250 (350 cc version XL350 introduced shortly after) combined 250 cc 2-stroke power characteristics with 4-stroke torque and efficiency. Early "M" models featured classic 1970s styling, high-mounted swept exhaust pipes, street-legal lighting, and dual rear shocks, before evolving into the mono-shock XL250S in 1978 and the 4-valve RFVC radial-head variants in the mid-1980s. Celebrated for its mechanical reliability and easy rideability, the XL250 provided the blueprint for Honda's long line of dual-sport machines.
