Introduced in 2021 as the flagship open-class off-road weapon in Kawasaki's lineup, the Kawasaki KX450X adapts the championship-winning KX450 motocross platform specifically for cross-country, GNCC, Hare & Hound, and desert racing. Combining explosive 449 cc four-stroke performance with off-road-tuned chassis hardware, the KX450X pairs a lightweight aluminum perimeter frame with softer, high-compliance Showa suspension valving and spring rates designed to absorb rocks, roots, and high-speed trail chop. Factory cross-country features include an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in Dunlop AT81 off-road tires, a coned-disc-spring hydraulic clutch, electric start, a skid plate, and a side stand. Redesigned alongside the KX450 platform, the KX450X integrates advanced technology such as a center-port cylinder head, Brembo front braking components, KTRC traction control, and smartphone tuning connectivity via the Rideology KX app.
