Suzuki GSX1300R HAYABUSA 2016 Parts & Accessories
First introduced in 1999 as the GSX1300R, the Suzuki Hayabusa immediately gained legendary status by claiming the title of the world's fastest production motorcycle with top speeds between 303–312 km/h (188–194 mph). Named after the Japanese peregrine falcon—famous for diving at speeds over 300 km/h and preying on the blackbird (a direct nod to unseating the Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird)—the Hayabusa became an icon not only for unbridled speed, but for its remarkable stability, refined ride comfort, and bulletproof engineering. Its debut directly prompted the informal "gentlemen's agreement" among Japanese and European manufacturers to electronically cap production motorcycle speeds at 299 km/h (186 mph) starting in 2001.
MAJOR GENERATIONAL MILESTONES
- 1999–2007 (First Generation - Gen 1): Unveiled with a 1,299 cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine producing 173 HP, wind-tunnel sculpted aerodynamic bodywork, dual ram-air intakes, and a lightweight aluminum twin-spar frame. The 1999–2000 models remain the only unrestricted factory units capable of exceeding 190 mph.
- 2008–2020 (Second Generation - Gen 2): Extensive overhaul expanding engine stroke to 1,340 cc (194 HP), adding titanium valves, a 3-mode Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS), Tokico radial-mount brake calipers (later upgraded to Brembo monoblocs with ABS in 2013), lighter swingarm, and bolder bodywork.
- 2021–Present (Third Generation - Gen 3): Ground-up redesign featuring over 550 redesigned engine components, a comprehensive Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) powered by a 6-axis Bosch IMU, Ride-by-Wire throttles, Bi-directional Quickshifter, Brembo Stylema calipers, and updated razor-sharp aerodynamic styling while retaining the signature 1,340 cc displacement.
