Suzuki RM465 1982 Parts & Accessories

First introduced in 1975 to succeed the TM series, the Suzuki RM Series ("Racing Machine") stands as Suzuki's flagship line of dedicated two-stroke motocross racing motorcycles. Built on technology developed in Suzuki's World Championship Motocross campaigns, the full-size RM family—anchored by the mid-class RM125 and open-class RM250—pioneered major off-road engineering innovations, including long-travel suspensions, the revolutionary Full-Floater single-shock monoshock system in 1981, liquid cooling, and Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) cylinder plating. Praised by racers for their razor-sharp cornering, lightweight chassis dynamics, and punchy powerbands, the full-size RM models remained in continuous production until 2008 before two-stroke market shifts led to the transition toward the four-stroke RM-Z lineup.

Designed to provide junior and entry-level amateur racers with mini-motocross performance, the Suzuki RM Youth & Mini-Cross Range (RM50 / RM60 / RM65 / RM80 / RM85 / RM100) scaled down Suzuki's factory race technology for smaller riders. Expanding from early air-cooled machines into liquid-cooled, power-valve-equipped mini racers, the series was highlighted by the long-running RM80 and its successor, the RM85 (including the large-wheel RM85L variant). Known for class-leading low-to-midrange torque and sharp handling, these mini racers utilized rigid tubular steel frames, Showa inverted front forks, piggyback reservoir rear shocks, and hydraulic disc brakes to serve as a stepping stone to full-size competition.
