Suzuki SV1000 2007 Parts & Accessories
Introduced in 2003 as the direct successor to the aggressive TL1000S and TL1000R, the Suzuki SV1000 (naked) and SV1000S (half-faired) scaled up the universally acclaimed chassis design and accessible ergonomics of the SV650 to full open-class performance. Built around an extensively re-engineered 996 cc 90-degree V-twin engine derived from the TL series, the SV1000 utilized Suzuki's high-vacuum pressure-cast aluminum frame manufacturing process to create a light, rigid chassis with smooth, muscular power delivery. Designed to blend daily commuting versatility with high-speed sport touring and backroad carving, the platform remained in production through 2007, earning a enduring reputation as one of the great big-bore V-twin sport-street bikes of its era.
MAJOR GENERATIONAL MILESTONES
- 2003 (Launch / K3): Global debut of the naked SV1000 and half-faired SV1000S featuring an updated 996 cc V-twin with dual throttle valves (SDTV), sub-frame mounted dual exhaust silencers, and high-vacuum die-cast aluminum frame.
- 2004 (K4): Revised rear subframe lowered seat height by 10 mm (32.3 in to 31.9 in); minor angle adjustments made to passenger footpegs and rear fender assembly.
- 2005 (K5): Engine upgrades including larger 54 mm throttle bodies, higher compression ratio (11.6:1), revised camshaft timing, black-painted frame and swingarm finish, and new ECU programming increasing output to ~123 HP.
- 2006–2007 (K6–K7): Naked SV1000 variant dropped in most Western markets, leaving the half-faired SV1000S to finish out the production run with minor colorway revisions and refined emissions controls before retirement in 2007.
