Suzuki VL1500 INTRUDER 2003 Parts & Accessories
First introduced in 1985 as the pioneering VS700/VS750 before evolving into the long-running VS800, the Suzuki Intruder VS700 / VS750 / VS800 series was designed as a lean, narrow-profile chopper-style cruiser. Built to directly challenge traditional American V-twins, the mid-displacement VS-series utilized a narrow 45° V-twin engine layout with offset crankpins to reduce vibration while maintaining a distinctive V-twin pulse. Engineered with clean, uncluttered custom lines, the platform hiddenly mounted its rear master cylinder and featured a narrow frame waist, shaft final drive, spoked wheels, and liquid cooling with a tall, discreet radiator integrated between the front frame downtubes.

Introduced in 1987 to compete directly with 1,340 cc Big Twin cruisers, the Suzuki Intruder VS1400 elevated Suzuki's custom chopper concept to muscle-cruiser status. Rather than scaling up the liquid-cooled design of the 750, Suzuki equipped the VS1400 with a massive 1,360 cc 45° V-twin engine featuring a hybrid air/oil-cooling system—utilizing Suzuki Advanced Cooling System (SACS) oil jets on the rear cylinder to keep the engine compact and eliminate the need for a prominent radiator. With a high-torque three-valve cylinder head design, clean steel bodywork, exposed shaft drive, and minimal plastic, the VS1400 remained in production virtually unchanged for nearly two decades before becoming the Boulevard S83.

Launched for the 1998 model year as Suzuki's flagship long-distance touring cruiser, the Suzuki Intruder LC1500 (VL1500) departed from the narrow chopper styling of the VS-series in favor of a massive, broad-shouldered classic design. Featuring heavily valanced fenders, wide footboards, a low-slung 27.6-inch seat, and a wide-track chassis, the LC1500 was powered by a long-stroke 1,462 cc air/oil-cooled V-twin engineered for massive low-rpm grunt. To achieve its ultra-low center of gravity, Suzuki positioned the primary 15.5-liter fuel tank under the seat, filling the traditional tank location with a broad dummy shell housing the airbox and electrical components.
