Yamaha FJ1100 1985 Parts & Accessories

First introduced for the 1984 model year, the Yamaha FJ1100 was a landmark sport touring motorcycle designed to blend high-speed stability with agile, responsive handling. Built to address the bulk and weight common to liter-class bikes of its era, the FJ1100 featured Yamaha's innovative "Lateral Frame Concept"—a steel double-cradle structure that wrapped around the steering head for superior rigidity—and repositioned the alternator behind the cylinders to narrow the overall width. Celebrated for its potent 16-valve engine, aerodynamic fairing, and comfortable upright ergonomics, the FJ1100 established an enduring blueprint for the FJ series before evolving into the FJ1200.
  • Production Run: 1984–1985 (succeeded by the FJ1200)
  • Engine Type: 1,097 cc air/oil-cooled four-stroke inline-four
  • Valving System: DOHC 4 valves per cylinder
  • Transmission: 5-speed manual with hydraulic clutch
  • Primary Chassis: Steel "Lateral Frame Concept" double-cradle with telescopic front anti-dive fork and rear single-shock suspension
  • Class: Sport touring / Superbike
