Yamaha FZR1000 1990 Parts & Accessories

Introduced in 1987, the Yamaha FZR1000 stood as Yamaha's premier flagship superbike throughout late-1980s and early-1990s production. Built on the "Genesis" engine concept with 45-degree forward-slanted cylinders, it debuted Yamaha's full-scale aluminum Deltabox perimeter frame for liter-class machines. The model gained legendary status in 1989 with the introduction of the EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Power Valve) system—a servo-driven valve in the exhaust collector that optimized backpressure, resulting in a broad powerband and top speeds exceeding 160 mph. Combined with upside-down forks and dual projector headlights on later models, the FZR1000 was widely recognized as the dominant production sportbike of its era.
