Introduced in 1973 as the successor to the DS7, the Yamaha RD250 (also known as the RZ250 in Japan and Australia) is an iconic two-stroke parallel-twin motorcycle. Renowned for bringing race-bred performance to lightweight road bikes, early models introduced Yamaha's reed-valve "Torque Induction" technology to street riding for enhanced mid-range power. Evolving through air-cooled generations to the high-performance liquid-cooled RD250LC and YPVS variants, the RD250 gained a fierce reputation for its snappy acceleration and agile handling.
