Yamaha RD400 1979 Parts & Accessories
Produced from 1976 through 1979, the Yamaha RD400 evolved directly from the RD350 to become one of the most celebrated two-stroke street motorcycles of the 1970s. Yamaha expanded engine displacement to 399 cc by increasing the stroke, creating a smoother, more flexible power delivery with improved mid-range torque. Notable as the first production motorcycle from a major manufacturer to come standard with cast alloy wheels, the RD400 also introduced rubber engine mounts to minimize vibration and updated angular styling. Lightweight, agile, and aggressively responsive, it cemented its place as a classic performance icon prior to the transition to liquid-cooled architectures.
