Yamaha SRX600 1987 Parts & Accessories

Manufactured from 1985 through 1997, the Yamaha SRX was designed as a modern, sporty evolution of Yamaha's traditional single-cylinder street bike heritage. Developed to build on the success of the classic SR500, the SRX utilized an updated four-stroke engine derived from the XT600 dual-sport series, featuring a 4-valve cylinder head, a balance shaft, and Yamaha's dual-stage YDIS carburetion system. Built in multiple displacement options—most notably the SRX600 for global export and the SRX400 for the Japanese domestic market—it paired sharp cafe-racer-inspired styling with a lightweight steel chassis, alloy wheels, and triple disc brakes. Later revisions in the 1990s introduced an electric starter and a rear monoshock configuration, solidifying the SRX as a distinctive cult classic praised for its nimble, lightweight handling.
