Yamaha TDM850 1998 Parts & Accessories

Introduced in 1991, the Yamaha TDM850 pioneered the modern "adventure sport-touring" concept by blending upright dual-sport ergonomics with road-focused performance. Designed to handle twisted European mountain passes and varied road surfaces, it was powered by an 849 cc 10-valve parallel-twin engine derived from Yamaha's Paris-Dakar winning XTZ750 Super Ténéré. In 1996, Yamaha updated the model (MKII) with revised bodywork, beefier 43 mm front forks, and a key mechanical shift from a 360-degree crankshaft to a 270-degree crossplane firing order (shared with the TRX850), granting the high-riding tourer distinct V-twin-like power delivery and exhaust character.
