The Yamaha TZ250 is a legendary purpose-built Grand Prix production racing motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha Motor Company from 1973 through 2008. Designed strictly for competitive road racing, it served as the backbone of privateer grids in the 250 cc World Championship and national series globally. Over its 35-year production run, the TZ250 underwent dramatic technical evolution—transitioning from air-cooled parallel twins and steel frames to liquid-cooled V-twins housed in ultra-rigid aluminum Deltabox chassis.

- 249 cc liquid-cooled 90° V-twin 2-stroke engine with YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) producing approx. 92–95 HP @ 12,500 RPM
- Crankcase reed valve induction with twin Mikuni carburetors and ram-air system
- Lightweight aluminum twin-spar (Deltabox) chassis frame
- Fully adjustable inverted (upside-down) telescopic front forks
- Aluminum swingarm with fully adjustable monoshock rear suspension
- Dual floating hydraulic front disc brakes and single hydraulic rear disc brake
- 6-speed cassette-type close-ratio manual transmission with dry multi-plate racing clutch
- 17-inch front and 17-inch rear lightweight magnesium/alloy racing wheels for slick tires
- Approx. 100 kg (220 lbs) dry weight with a 18.0-litre (4.75 US gal) racing fuel tank capacity
