First introduced in 2003 to succeed the WR426F, the Yamaha WR450F is a flagship high-performance enduro and cross-country racing motorcycle. Derived directly from Yamaha's championship-winning YZ450F motocross platform, the WR450F pairs open-class 450 cc power with enduro-specific tuning, including wide-ratio 5-speed transmission gearing, electric starting, specialized ECU mapping, a 18-inch rear wheel, and headlight/tail light assemblies. Utilizing Yamaha's signature reverse-cylinder head engine design and bilateral beam aluminum frame, it is widely regarded as one of the most powerful, durable, and versatile open-class off-road machines ever built.
