Yamaha XJ650 1981 Parts & Accessories

Introduced in 1980 as the successor to the XS650 Special and produced through 1983, the Yamaha XJ650 Maxim pioneered Yamaha's high-performance factory cruiser concept. Built around an all-new air-cooled 653 cc DOHC inline-four engine, Yamaha engineered a remarkably compact power unit by positioning the alternator and starter behind the cylinder block rather than on the end of the crankshaft. Combining teardrop styling, stepped seating, and pull-back handlebars with smooth low-maintenance shaft final drive, the XJ650 Maxim delivered punchy sports-liter performance in an accessible custom cruiser chassis.
