Yamaha XJ900 1988 Parts & Accessories

Introduced in 1983 as an expansion of Yamaha's successful XJ platform, the Yamaha XJ900 was a heavy-duty, air-cooled sport-touring motorcycle built for effortless mile-munching. Initially launched with an 853 cc DOHC inline-four engine before being upgraded in 1984 to 891 cc, it combined smooth, linear power delivery with low-maintenance shaft final drive. Early models featured a handlebar-mounted cowl that was quickly replaced by a frame-mounted upper fairing to improve high-speed stability. With a long-range 22-litre fuel tank, comfortable two-up seating, and triple disc brakes, the original XJ900 established a reputation for legendary mechanical reliability that carried through to its ultimate replacement by the XJ900S Diversion in 1994.
