Yamaha XS400S 1982 Parts & Accessories

Produced from 1977 through 1982, the Yamaha XS400 was a versatile, lightweight commuter motorcycle designed as a modern four-stroke alternative to Yamaha's two-stroke twins. Powered by an air-cooled 392 cc parallel-twin engine, it incorporated overhead camshaft design, counter-balancers for smooth operation, and a choice of electric or kick-starting. Offered in multiple variants—ranging from cast-wheel models with front disc brakes to wire-spoke budget editions—it evolved in 1982 with DOHC 4-valve cylinder heads and a Monocross rear shock suspension system before ultimately giving way to the XJ middleweight lineup.
