First introduced in 2010 and produced through 2023, the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré was Yamaha's flagship adventure-touring motorcycle, designed to tackle long-distance transcontinental travel both on and off-road. Drawing heritage from Yamaha's Paris-Dakar rally winning machines, the Super Ténéré featured a compact 1,199 cc parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crossplane crankshaft for linear power delivery and traction. Engineered for extreme durability and cross-country comfort, it featured shaft final drive, ride-by-wire throttle (YCC-T), multi-mode traction control, combined ABS braking, and optional electronically adjustable suspension on higher-tier ES models.

• Twin-bore electronic fuel injection (EFI) with Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) and 3-mode Traction Control System (TCS)
• Steel tube backbone frame with high-rigidity detachable aluminum rear subframe
• 43 mm inverted telescopic front forks with fully adjustable preload, compression, and rebound damping (electronically adjustable on ES models)
• Monoshock rear suspension with link-type swingarm and adjustable preload/rebound damping (electronically adjustable on ES models)
• Dual 310 mm hydraulic wave-type front discs with 4-piston calipers and single 282 mm hydraulic rear disc with Unified Braking System (UBS) and ABS
• 6-speed manual transmission with wet multi-plate slipper clutch and low-maintenance shaft final drive
• 19-inch front (110/80R19) and 17-inch rear (150/70R17) tubeless spoked aluminum wheels with dual-sport tires
