Yamaha XT500 1975 Parts & Accessories

Produced from 1976 through 1989, the Yamaha XT500 is a iconic big-bore dual-sport motorcycle that pioneered the modern adventure and enduro class. Sharing its air-cooled 499 cc SOHC single-cylinder thumper engine with the TT500 off-road model and SR500 street bike, the XT500 produced roughly 30 horsepower and gained immediate fame for its rugged reliability and high-torque performance. Equipped with full street equipment running on a 6-volt electrical system, the XT500 proved its absolute mechanical durability by winning the inaugural Paris–Dakar Rally in 1979 and repeating the victory in 1980. Its landmark commercial and rally success laid the foundational blueprint for Yamaha's entire legendary XT line.
