Produced from 1989 through 1996, the Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Ténéré was a flagship dual-sport adventure motorcycle directly inspired by Yamaha's dominant Paris–Dakar Rally machines. Built around a liquid-cooled 749 cc SOHC parallel-twin engine featuring a 5-valve cylinder head layout (3 intake, 2 exhaust), it produced 70 horsepower and achieved top speeds around 120 mph (192 km/h). Designed specifically for long-distance desert endurance touring, the Super Ténéré featured a high-rigidity steel frame, long-travel suspension, dual front disc brakes, and a massive 26-litre fuel tank. Its racing derivative, the YZE750/850, won the grueling Paris–Dakar Rally seven times in the 1990s, cementing the XTZ 750 as one of the most legendary adventure platforms ever created.
