Yamaha XV1000M 1983 Parts & Accessories
Produced from 1984 through 1985 (and preceded by the European-market XV1000 TR1 from 1981 to 1986), the Yamaha XV1000 represented a major transitional step in Yamaha's V-twin lineup. Derived by enlarging the 920 cc engine to 981 cc, the XV1000 was created in part to navigate the US trade tariffs on imported motorcycles over 700 cc while delivering greater low-end torque. It served as the bridge between early mono-shock designs and the refined dual-shock Virago era, featuring Yamaha's air-cooled 75-degree V-twin powerplant, shaft final drive, double front disc brakes, and classic teardrop styling that would ultimately pave the way for the XV1100.
