Introduced in 2013 for the 2014 model year, the Yamaha Bolt (also designated XV950 in European and international markets) is a modern performance-cruiser designed as an accessible, urban bobber. Powered by an air-cooled 942 cc SOHC 60-degree V-twin engine with four valves per cylinder and electronic fuel injection, the Bolt produces strong low-end torque with a relaxed, low-slung riding position. Built around a double-cradle steel frame without artificial covers or chrome flourishes, it emphasizes raw, minimalist styling, a belt drive system, and twin piggyback rear shocks on higher-tier spec levels like the R-Spec and C-Spec. Serving as a centerpiece of Yamaha's Star Cruiser line, the Bolt remains a popular choice for urban commuting and custom bobber builds.
