First introduced in 2003 to replace the YZ426F, the Yamaha YZ450F is Yamaha's flagship open-class four-stroke motocross motorcycle. Built for premier-class Supercross and Pro Motocross racing, the YZ450F has driven premier-class innovation across two decades, introducing an aluminum frame in 2006 and a revolutionary rearward-slanted cylinder head with a forward-positioned air intake in 2010 to centralize mass. Continually updated with modern electronics—including launch control, traction control, and smartphone ECU tuning via the Yamaha Power Tuner App—the YZ450F remains a benchmark for explosive power, precise chassis stability, and race-winning performance.

• 450 cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve 4-stroke single-cylinder engine with titanium valves producing approx. 58–60 HP @ 9,500 RPM
• 44 mm Mikuni electronic fuel injection (EFI) with smartphone-tunable Yamaha Power Tuner App integration
• Aluminum bilateral beam frame chassis with lightweight detachable rear subframe
