Yamaha YZ85 2018 Parts & Accessories

First introduced in 2002 to replace the long-running YZ80, the Yamaha YZ85 is a youth competition motocross bike designed to serve as a high-performance training ground for aspiring racers moving up to full-size machines. Powered by a high-revving, liquid-cooled 85 cc two-stroke engine equipped with the Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS on modern models), the YZ85 delivers explosive, tractable broad-range power. Offered in both standard (17-inch front/14-inch rear) and Large Wheel (LW - 19-inch front/16-inch rear) configurations, it features fully adjustable KYB suspension, a rigid semi-double-cradle frame, and race-proven geometry to handle demanding motocross track conditions.

• 84.7 cc liquid-cooled reed-valve 2-stroke single-cylinder engine with YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) producing approx. 28.5 HP @ 11,500 RPM
• 28 mm Keihin PWK28 flat-slide carburetor with CDI ignition system
• High-tensile steel semi-double-cradle frame with detachable aluminum rear subframe
• 36 mm KYB inverted telescopic cartridge front forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping; 275 mm (10.8 in) wheel travel
• Fully adjustable KYB rear monoshock with Link Monocross linkage; 287 mm (11.3 in) wheel travel
• 220 mm hydraulic wave-type single front disc brake and 190 mm hydraulic wave-type single rear disc brake
• 6-speed constant-mesh manual transmission with multi-plate heavy-duty wet clutch
• Available wheel sizes: Standard (17-inch front / 14-inch rear) or LW model (19-inch front / 16-inch rear) wire-spoked aluminum rims with Dunlop MX33 tires
