Unveiled in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, the Yamaha YZF-R9 is a next-generation middleweight-plus supersport motorcycle designed to replace the legendary YZF-R6 in global road-racing competition and serve as Yamaha's high-performance bridge between the R7 and R1. Powered by Yamaha's acclaimed 890 cc CP3 inline-triple engine, the R9 delivers 117 horsepower in a dedicated, ultra-lightweight Deltabox aluminum frame. Featuring integrated aerodynamic winglets, fully adjustable KYB suspension, Brembo Stylema calipers, and a full 6-axis IMU electronics suite, the YZF-R9 balances track-level performance with accessible street usability.

• 890 cc liquid-cooled DOHC 12-valve transverse inline-three CP3 engine producing 117.3 HP @ 10,000 RPM and 69 lb-ft torque @ 7,000 RPM
• Electronic Fuel Injection with YCC-T ride-by-wire throttle system
• Gravitationally cast Deltabox aluminum perimeter frame (the lightest frame on a Yamaha supersport model)
• 43 mm KYB inverted telescopic front forks, fully adjustable for preload, high/low-speed compression, and rebound damping
• KYB rear monoshock absorber, fully adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound damping
• Dual 320 mm front hydraulic disc brakes with Brembo Stylema 4-piston radial calipers; single 220 mm rear disc brake (Cornering ABS standard)
• 6-speed manual transmission with Assist & Slipper clutch and 3rd-generation Bi-directional Quickshifter
• 17-inch front (120/70 ZR17) and 17-inch rear (180/55 ZR17) lightweight cast alloy wheels
