Yamaha YZF600R 1998 Parts & Accessories

Produced from 1994 through 2007 (known as the Thundercat in European markets), the Yamaha YZF600R was a middleweight sports bike designed as the successor to the FZR600R and precursor to the track-focused YZF-R6. Powered by a liquid-cooled 599 cc DOHC 16-valve inline-four engine paired with four Keihin 36 mm CV downdraft carburetors, it produced 100 horsepower. Constructed around a steel Deltabox frame, the YZF600R was distinguished by its fully adjustable suspension, plush dual seat, and iconic Sumitomo "Blue Spot" monobloc four-piston front brake calipers—components later adopted by the original YZF-R1. Though gradually superseded on the track by the lighter R6 starting in 1999, the YZF600R remained in production for nearly a decade longer as a praised all-around sport-touring motorcycle with exceptional real-world usability and long-distance comfort.
